Welcome!

According to a recent Santa Cruz, California poll, more than 80% of city voters agree that the Drug War is a failure and adults who use marijuana should not be criminalized.

It's time we did something about it!

Santa Cruz Citizens for Sensible Marijuana Policy is currently circulating a petition to put a city initiative on the ballot in November. The initiative would do three things:

(1) Make investigations, citations, arrests, property seizures, and prosecutions for adult marijuana offenses the City of Santa Cruz's lowest law enforcement priority;

(2) Enable the city to save tax dollars and police resources so that they can spend them fighting violent and serious crime

(3) Establishe a city policy supporting changes in state and federal laws that call for taxation and regulation for adult use of marijuana

We need your help to get this issue on the ballot!

You do NOT need to be a registered City voter to help the campaign, assist another petitioner, help a qualified citizen register to vote in the City, or encourage registered City voters to sign the petition.

You must be a City of Santa Cruz registered voter to sign the petition or to witness a signature and to sign the affidavit at the bottom of this petition.
